September 2023

Dear Bear Tavern Families,

On behalf of the Bear Tavern PTO (BTPTO) Board, I am so excited to welcome all new and returning families to the 2023-2024 school year. The BTPTO is ready and excited to partner with the fantastic Bear Tavern staff for the many outstanding enrichment programs, great community-building events and fun celebrations we will provide this school year.

As a parent/guardian of a Bear Tavern student, YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE BTPTO; no registration or payment is required. The BTPTO runs entirely on donation/fundraising and succeeds with the support of volunteers like you. Everyone is encouraged and invited to attend meetings to share their ideas to support the mission of the BTPTO:

“To enrich and enhance the social and educational opportunities for our children as well as to foster lines of communication among parents, teachers, administrators, staff and students within Bear Tavern.”

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to volunteer your time and expertise in any capacity you are able. Your involvement and leadership are vital to ensure the success of the programs sponsored by the BTPTO. There are many ways to become involved to meet your strengths and abilities. Many of these are listed on the BTPTO website, which can be accessed through Bear Tavern’s website or by visiting directly at https://www.beartavernpto.com/.

Please, keep an eye out for more communications from the BTPTO regarding upcoming events, fundraisers, and activities. You should receive information about signing up for the school directory through MembershipToolKit as well as information regarding our Annual Appeal. The success of the Annual Appeal directly impacts the number of programs provided for our students and teachers, including Visiting Authors, teacher mini-grants, field trips, and the Innovation Extravaganza (science fair).

I am looking forward to another amazing year at Bear Tavern Elementary school! If you have any questions or would like to share some of your ideas and thoughts, please feel free to contact me or any member of the BTPTO Board.

Sincerely,

Jean Ulkloss
